The Miami Creative Movement Opening Reception

  • Center for Visual Communication (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The success of the The Miami Creative Movement exhibition has been exciting and humbling.

We hope you can join us for a special event at the gallery on Saturday, February 25th celebrating the show and our arts community as we emerge from the isolation of COVID; we are calling it "Artists Homecoming Celebration."

Please save the date for our Reception event:

The Artists Homecoming Celebration will be on Saturday, February 25th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

  • We have invited Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Alberto Ibargüen, the Knight Foundation's President/CEO to join us in acknowledging you, Miami's artists and arts organizations as the cultural foundation for our city's rise to world class status.

The Center for Visual Communication in Wynwood kicks off Art Basel Season with the world premiere of the new exhibition The Miami Creative Movement (Nov. 19‒March 15) curated by Barry Fellman, alongside the launch of his new photography book Miami Creative: A Decade of Transformation featuring Fellman’s photographs.

Miami Creative: A Decade of Transformation, explodes with the energy and creativity that have turned Miami into a global artistic force and World Class City. The publication’s more than two hundred vibrant photos show how the arts have propelled Miami into a top destination for visitors worldwide and a creative class that is reinventing the city. Barry Fellman’s coffee table book, which will be released this fall, chronicles the heart and soul of Miami’s creative community from major museums and performance venues to popular grassroots events. This compelling story heralds the pivotal role of arts and culture in shaping the new Miami and connecting our city. The shared experiences it illuminates beam with the joy and diversity that will lead us forward as we emerge from the pandemic. The book is a featured Miami Book Fair presentation including Alberto Ibargüen, Knight Foundation CEO and leading urbanist Richard Florida. Preview Miami Creative here.

The public is invited to open-house events to meet the artists on-site at the Center for Visual Communication, located in the heart of Miami’s Wynwood arts district from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
